1. An administrative assistant will call 1-2 days before your procedure to complete a pre-procedure questionnaire and answer any of your questions.

  2. A WGI Staff Member may call you again the afternoon before your procedure between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm to inform you of the approximate time of your procedure and what time you should arrive at the center.

  3. Ask your doctor for specific instructions about preparing for your procedure. Most procedures require patients to stop eating and drinking at least eight hours before your procedure. This includes not eating candy or chewing gum.

  4. Please STOP taking multi-vitamins, Vitamin E, and herbal supplements one week prior to procedure. Confirm with your doctor which medications you should take the day of your procedure. Medications such as blood thinners, aspirin, or medication containing aspirin may need to be stopped temporarily.

  5. You must make plans to have a responsible adult drive you home and be with you for 24 hours after your procedure.

  6. We suggest that you do not smoke for at least 24 hours before procedure.

  7. If you have a living will, please bring a copy with you on the day of procedure.

  8. If you need special assistance, are not fluent in English, or require a sign language interpreter, please let the physician’s office know so arrangements can be made to assist you.

  9. Please notify your doctor of any change in your medical conditions, or if fever or other illness develops. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, notify your physician or the Endoscopy Center as soon as possible.
